We can’t survive without the Event industry!

The first brutally hit by the Corona panic lockdown and the only ones who are still in complete lockdown - the event industry.

Event industry! What an ugly word!

It’ just too cold! I would rather call it the people full of creativity - who have the ability to bring joy and relaxation to others - to everyone. The ones that make us think, surprise us positive, let us stop breathing when admiring beautiful art, astonishing sculptures, listen to wonderful touching violin concerts, piano sessions, Talent singers, bands and choirs and actors that enchant us. Gorgeous restaurants with food and entertainment that top our. We fancy hard rock, punk and techno. Poets and Philosophers. Street performers and musical flash mobs. The list is endless. And there is something for everyone.

They are all silent right now. I miss it. A lot!

We miss it but mentioning it gets this suspicious accusing look of: “You just want party in times of crisis?” “Want to listen to music while people are suffering?” - “Fun is important while the state is acting seriously to prevent more harm to the people?”. All this comments might be political correct in today environment but are irresponsible!

There silence is too deafening

Their silence is deafening because it has a tremendous negative impact on us.

Music and Art - in any form enriches our daily life's! No parties deprives us of social interaction enjoyment and fun. No concerts leaves us with out great performances and joy together with others - our community - our soulmates. The singer, the actor the artist misses the appreciation, applause and the glimmer in our eyes. We took much more away from them than just money.

But I still miss events with my friends, family and colleguages. But what is worse we took party life away from the young people. And - I am sure I don’t have to remind you - it’s important. Its social life, interaction, learning to enjoy, learning to be responsible, making connections, adjusting while having the pleasure to learn life. We now took it away from them. That is our fault. We let it happen! It is our responsibility to bring it back for them!

There are millions of jobs connected to Events and the woman and men work when others have fun and work so others can have fun.

Let's support them. Let's enjoy together again.

We owe this to the young and to ourselves. In Germany they have the online movement

KULTURGESICHTER0421 - OHNE UNS IST‘S STILL (without us it's silent) which features the many faces that worked for us, gave us pleasure and are now all over the world unsupported on the streets. Let's share like and support as much as we can. There are support movements in every country. At the end we only support ourselves and the next generations.

The unrightfully unemployed in this sector are not only the fancy singer that took main-stage. Its the technician for sound, the light effect guy, the camera men, the location scout, the lady in the cloakroom, the toilet cleaner, ticket sales men, the supplier, waiter, caterer, taxi driver and many millions more worldwide. These are the people we have to think of.

Events are a part of hospitality but - hospitality and events are not just a business form. They are part - a big part - of our life!
