The Germans want to have their restaurants open again - the politicians are against it

The second lockdown in November not only wiped out all sales for another month but also largely destroyed the Christmas business. No companies and family celebrations - no bookings for the holidays. Happy New Year!
“The restaurants in Germany have been closed since the beginning of November. The Chancellor had already dampened hopes that the corona measures would be relaxed. There is no need to talk about that, said Merkel after n-tv information and added: "We may even have to add more."
However, a majority of German citizens are clearly in favor of opening up restaurants and cultural institutions:
In a survey for “Bild am Sonntag”, 78 percent of those questioned said that restaurants should reopen next month. According to this, 68 percent welcomed the opening of cultural institutions. Leisure facilities are closed, hotels are not allowed to accommodate tourists.”

The supposedly unbureaucratic payments to hotels and restaurants are still outstanding - the bureaucracy seems to be in the way.

As I said before, winter will be cold and long for hotels, restaurants, the event industry and cruises, all of which are helplessly dependend on political decisions.
