River cruising didn’t come back

Ocean liners will stay in port for longer even though the first ones tried to start and failed. Queen Elizabeth (Cunard) canceled all world cruises until 2022 and will sail around England only.

River cruising looked more promising even without the American and english speaking market which accounts for 75% of the business.

But now France has closed again so also River cruising died off after a very short season and with the closure of Budapest on September 1 even the Danube cruises lost a tremendous attraction with Budapest unreachable.

What is left is a mainly German market on the Rhine river with some Swiss and Austrian guest. Not enough to stay afloat in times like this.

We better forget this year and hope for the next one.
